Starting a blog… tips from the pros

As we experiment with blogs in MC106 this semester, it might be helpful to consult some experts. Just what is blogging? How fast is it growing? What are the basics of blogging? How do I get started?

Mindy McAdams at the University of Florida is considered one of the nation’s foremost educators of new media. I have visited her web site a number of times and have found very helpful information. The great this is that she shares what she has contributed to the study of evolving media technology and how it can be paired up with solid reporting and writing.

Recently she posted PART ONE and PART TWO of a her guide on journalism for new media. Part One explores a guide to multimedia proficiency. Part Two sets the table for starting a blog.

I subscribe to McAdams’ RSS feed and follow what she is up to… it’s cutting edge.
